Purpose and Description of Services 1. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, parts, incidentals, travel, traffic control, disposal, and equipment necessary to repair and/or replace damaged Metal Beam Guardrail (MBGR), Midwest Guardrail System (MGS) barrier, Thrie Beam Barrier, Terminal Systems, Crash Cushions, Transition Railings, End Anchor Assemblies, channel rail, and other highway components for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) on a routine or non-routine basis. Bidders must submit their questions via e-mail to Mohammadjavad.Habibi@dot.ca.gov. Written questions must include: the individual's name, firm name, e-mail address and must reference IFB No. 06A3070. Written responses to all questions will be collectively compiled and posted, as an Addendum, electronically. Proposed Award Date (estimate) July 15, 2024 Initial bid opening results will be posted online by 3:00 p.m. on the day following the bid opening. Caltrans reserves the right to reject all bids for reasonable cause. A bid may be rejected if it is conditional, incomplete, or if it contains any alterations of form or other irregularities of any kind. Caltrans may reject any bid on the basis that it is not responsive or from a non-responsible bidder and may waive any immaterial deviation in a bid. Caltrans waiver of an immaterial defect shall in no way modify the IFB document or excuse the bidder from full compliance with all requirements if awarded the Agreement This Agreement will commence on August 1, 2024 (estimate), or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later, and no work shall begin before that time. This Agreement is of no effect unless approved by Caltrans. Contractor shall not receive payment for work performed prior to approval of the Agreement and before receipt of notice to proceed by Caltrans Contract Manager. This Agreement will expire on July 31, 2027 (estimate). The routine and non-routine services shall be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The non-routine services may be on weekends and State holidays. The parties may amend this Agreement as permitted by law.
