The Rock Island County Sheriff's Office has chosen to issue this Request for Proposals to seek a contractor to replace the roof at the Juvenile Justice Center located at 520 18th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201. Last Day to Submit Questions: July 19, 2024 Written Responses to Received Questions Posted: July 23, 2024 Scope of Work A. In General. The contractor shall replace the roof at the Juvenile Justice Center. The contractor shall furnish and assume full responsibility for everything required for the orderly progress and proper execution and completion of the work, whether temporary or permanent and whether or not otherwise incorporated into the work including, but not limited to, drawings, materials, equipment, labor including subcontractors, transportation, construction equipment and machinery, tools, and other facilities and incidentals. B. Removal of old Roof. Remove the existing material down to the original decking on entire roof substrate. All material removed from property must be properly and legally disposed of. C. Replace existing insulation. Install new insulation/under lay system to meet the required building code. The new insulation materials shall be fully adhered to the existing deck as per manufacturer and industry specifications. D. Replace Decking Material if needed. Install new decking material if needed to support roofing system. E. Replace existing membrane/ Membrane Warranty. Provide proposals for new roof membrane with at least a 30 year warranty. Once membrane picked the Contractor will install new membrane F. Remove and Replace Drip edge and flashing. The Contractor will provide and install all new drip edges and flashing for building. G. Remove an /Install new coping. The Contactor will provide and install all new coping for the building. H. Re-caulk all gutter/drain spouts. The Contractor shall re-caulk all gutter and drain spots. I. Re-caulk/reseal/flashing around vents, HVAC and Electrical. The Contractor will recaulk/re-seal and put new flashing around all vents, HVAC and electrical that are located on the roof of the building. J. Repairs to Existing structure K. Safety/Signage: The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining public convenience and safety, both inside and outside of the related areas of the premises, during the performance of work. When necessary, the contractor shall provide portable barriers, clearly marked to warn pedestrians and placed to ensure safe passage around the work areas. L. Clean Up. Clean up and removal of all debris from site when completed. M. Project Completion. The Contractor will establish a project completion time and ensure adequate personal to accomplish the project within that time. Pre-Proposal Questions.
