Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Madison Board of Education of the Town of Madison, Connecticut are seeking SEALED Bids from interested individuals, firms, or consultant teams for rooftop unit replacements at the Daniel Hand High School, located at 286 Green Hill Road, Madison, Connecticut 06443. The work to be performed for the project is the complete replacements of rooftop units at locations indicated. All onsite work including demolition and installation will happen over the course of the 2025 Summer School break period. All work is to be done under Prevailing Wage; Bid bonds and Performance bonds are required, as specified within. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The Town of Madison reserves the right to waive any informalities, irregularities, or defects in bids, to reject any and all bids and to accept a bid that, in its' sole discretion, is in the best interest of the Town. The work to be performed for the project is the complete replacements of rooftop units at locations indicated. All onsite work including demolition and installation will happen over the course of the 2025 Summer School break period. All work is to be done under Prevailing Wage; Bid bonds and Performance bonds are required, as specified within. Scope of Work and Intent of the Contract Documents The Contract Documents indicate all Work for the complete replacement of rooftop units at locations indicated. All bid prices shall be valid for ninety (90) days. Drawings have been provided, awarded bidder is to confirm all field measurements and provide shop drawings prior to fabrication approval. Commencement of Project June 12, 2025, approximately Work Completion August 15, 2025 All questions about the meaning of the intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Town of Madison in writing or via email to Felicia Smith at smith.felicia@madisonps.org by July 9, 2024. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, satisfactory to and payable to the order of the Town of Madison. The term "bid security" as used herein, shall mean the certified check or Bid Bond. The Bid Bond shall be on the form included in the Contract Documents. Surety companies executing Bonds must appear on the United States Treasury Department Circular Number 570, as amended, and be authorized to transact business in the State of Connecticut. The Bid security of the successful Bidder will be retained until such Bidder has executed the Agreement and furnished the required Contract securities and insurance, whereupon the Bid security shall be returned. If the successful Bidder fails to execute and deliver the Agreement and furnish the required Contract securities and insurance within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award, the Town may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid security of that Bidder will be forfeited to the Town as liquidated damages for such failure. The Bid security of other Bidders whom the Town believes to have a reasonable chance of receiving the award may be retained by the Town until the earlier of the 7th day after the effective date of the Agreement or the 61st day after the Bid opening, whereupon each Bid security furnished by such Bidders will be returned. Bid securities accompanying Bids which are not in the competitive decision-making range will be returned within thirty (30) days after the Bid opening. Performance and Payment (Labor and Material) Bonds The Contractor shall furnish Performance and Payment (Labor and Material) Bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all the Contractor's obligations under the Contract Documents. Bonds shall be in the forms prescribed by law or regulation and shall be acceptable to the Town.
