The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide planned (listed routes) and unplanned/on-call curb and gutter sweeping/cleaning services, in accordance with the specifications herein, within the Appomattox Residency on routes within Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell, and Nelson Counties. Scope of Work:
The Contractor shall provide curb and gutter sweeping/cleaning services as specified in this solicitation. The Contractor's bid pricing shall include all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, traffic control, disposal costs, mobilization/demobilization and any other incidentals necessary to provide the service as specified.
The Contractor shall ensure his capacity to perform work under this contract, even though there may be other contractual responsibilities to VDOT or elsewhere. The Contractor shall also be capable of commencing and completing work within the timeframe required.
VDOT estimates two complete sweeping/cleaning cycles per year. See section IV - D for details.
All work shall be performed according to the standard of the industry and completed to the satisfaction of the VDOT Contract Administrator. In the event the initial contract period is for more than 12 months, the resulting contract may also be terminated by the contractor, without penalty, after the initial 12 months of the contract period upon 60 days written notice to the other party. Any contract cancellation notice shall not relieve the contractor of the obligation to deliver and/or perform on all outstanding orders issued prior to the effective date of cancellation.
