Description

Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Santa Cruz, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project will refinish the West Cliff path's asphalt surface from Natural Bridges State Beach to David Way to enhance safety and accessibility for all users. This project aims to fix failing path sections to remove tripping hazards and replace the path's surface to extend the asphalt's life. The West Cliff Path is a scenic coastal trail that stretches approximately 3 miles along the Pacific Ocean from Natural Bridges State Beach to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This paved path offers stunning ocean views, opportunities for wildlife observation, and access to several beaches and surf spots. It is popular for walking, jogging, biking, and leisurely strolls. The focus of this project will be the section of the West Cliff path between Natural Bridges State Beach and David Way. Currently, the width of the path generally varies from eight to ten feet, with one section that narrows down to six feet. Additionally, some sections of the existing path are deteriorating and have become tripping hazards. Our goal for this project is to continue to maintain a path that is family-friendly and accessible, making it a favorite for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy the Santa Cruz coastline.
