The contractor will be required to perform various welding assignments as needed to the State Highway Administration equipment, facilities, and along State highways in Prince George's County, MD. The welder must be certified with a minimum of five years experience. The contractor must be able to repair modify or fabricate snowplows, plow push frames, steel or stainless-steel salt spreader boxes and aluminum or steel dump bodies. The contractor must own his own equipment and be able to respond in adverse weather conditions. The contractor will be required to provide his own welding rods, spools, gasses, torches and other supplies needed to complete the work. The State Highway Administration needs a welding contractor to perform various welding assignments to equipment and facilities for Marlboro Shop in Prince George's County, MD, and other locations within PG County as required. The Contractor must be covered by $1,000,000.00 of liability insurance. The Contractor shall provide this Administration with proof of liability insurance and coverage before the contract is awarded. No Pre-Bid meeting will be held on this IFB. Prices submitted in response to this solicitation are irrevocable for ninety (90) days following the due date. The Procurement Officer may, however, request vendors to extend the time during which the State may accept their bids. Once a bid is accepted, all prices, terms, and conditions shall remain unchanged throughout the contract period. The Contractor shall comply with the nondiscrimination provisions of federal and Maryland law. Invoices shall be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of work. Any work performed at the end of June shall be submitted no later than July 5 to comply with the Administration's Fiscal Year end requirements. Invoice terms will be with thirty (30) days upon receipt of completed invoice. Invoices held for verification, missing information, or returned for corrective re-submittal will not be subject to late fees.
