Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a library in Newtown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library; for site work for a library; and for asbestos abatement for a library.

ACM contractors for the ACM Removal and Abatement at the CH Booth Library located at 25 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470. Work is to be performed on multiple levels of the building and is tentatively scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025. The building will remain open to the public during this project Scopes of work to include but not limited to: o Provide complete abatement & disposal of all identified ACM per owners testing reports o Disposal to licensed regulated disposal area with manifest to owner. Disposal dumpsters staged in the parking lot area of building, as needed. o Radiators will be abandoned in place and require no abatement. o Phase 1 will be the original portion of the building and will require multiple penetrations including floor and ceiling penetrations. Stay onsite until work is complete. During the abatement process there will be restricted access to the original portion of the library from the staff and public. o There may be a portion of abatement in the boiler room on piping, insulation and other miscellaneous piping connections. o Must include all protection barriers and isolation of the work area from the rest of the facility as documented in the report with scope and specifications provided. o Power and water are available on site for abatement use o Pricing to be a lump sum for the work as indicated in the Hazardous Report o Pricing should exclude all taxes o Town of Newtown to review ACM contractor air quality testing per phase of abatement completion Questions concerning this bid must be submitted in writing and directed only to: Kerri Mubarek kerri.mubarek@newtown-ct.gov The BID BOND furnished, as bid security, must be duly executed by the bidder as principal. It must be in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total estimated bid, as guarantee that, in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, the bidder will, within ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond. The Purchasing Authority of the Town of Newtown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, or proposals; to waive any technicality in any proposal or part thereof, and to accept any proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Newtown.
