Renovation of a mixed-use development in Carlstadt, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Chiller at Carlstadt Public School Project Bids shall be submitted on the provide proposal forms and be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check of bid bond draw to the order of the "Carlstadt Board of Education" for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but in no case in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). Bid securities shall comply with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24. Bids shall include a Consent of Surety obligating the issuing surety company to provide the bidder and its subcontractors, if successful, with a New Jersey Statutory Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. CARLSTADT CHILLER REPLACMENT a. The existing air-cooled chiller is non-functional. b. Remove and discard the existing air-cooled chiller. c. Provide and install replacement air-cooled chiller. Install on existing roof dunnage or modified dunnage if required for substitution chiller. Connect to existing CHWS&R piping at roof. Connect to existing electrical service at roof. Before preparing and submitting a bid, it is mandatory that each bidder visit the site to determine the extent of the work. Each bidder shall fully inform itself prior to bidding as to existing conditions and limitations under which this work will be performed and shall include in its bid a sum to cover the cost of all items necessary to perform the work as set forth in the Contract Documents. 1. Protect all existing construction. Damage to existing construction or equipment shall be restored to the satisfaction of the Architect at no additional cost to the Owner. 2. The Contractor is advised that the Contract for this work shall be awarded by the Board of Education after receipt of bids if said bids are within budgeted amounts for the project and inaccordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall refer to the Instruction to Bidders for liquidated damages The Contractor is responsible for the completion of his particular project as shown and specified and is in charge of his project until completion and acceptance and is responsible for the coordination of all work and all trades in his project and for coordination with each other. Contractor shall study and compare all drawings and specifications and notify the Architect of any inconsistencies and of any work not done in conformance with the Contract Documents. B. Any existing conditions that shows evidence of deterioration or failure, and has not been indicated on the drawings, or specified herein shall be reported immediately to the Architect for his clarification and final determination. C. Obtain from the Owner, current State Tax I.D. number to eliminate payment (or obtain rebate) of New Jersey Sales Taxes as applicable to a non-profit organization. D. The conditions defined in this section supplement, and where applicable, supersede portions of the General Conditions for application to the specific nature of this project. It in no way relieves the Contractor of his responsibilities as defined and intended in the General Conditions. Question Deadline 07/30/2024 Interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written Addenda, Bulletins, or Clarifications to the Specifications, which if issued, will be mailed by certified or registered mail with return receipt requested, or sent by facsimile to all bidders of record, not later than seven (7) days prior to the date of the Bid Opening, Holidays and Weekends excepted or sent by a delivery service that provides certification of delivery within such timeframe. Therefore, bidders' questions must be received before this date to be considered.
