UPMC Ballpark Improvements Contract 1 - Baseball Playing Field Replacement A. Locate and cap or protect all irrigation heads and quick coupler valves. B. Strip all existing vegetation and organic matter to a depth of 3.5 inches. C. Remove all base anchors. Install new anchors provided by Owner. D. Excavate Game Mound and Bullpen mounds to elevations leaving room for 4 inch cap of Blacstick Mound Clay over entire mound. E. Excavate existing infield mix on infield, basepaths, Homeplate area to a depth of 3.5 inches. F. Excavate top 1 inch of broken down warning track material. G. Excavate existing artificial turf in bullpens. H. Establish new grades conforming with PDL standards (see grade plan) I. Add new rootzone material as needed to meet proper proposed elevations. J. Install DuraTrax warning track mix as needed to tie in grades and provide smooth transition K. Laser grade rootzone, infield, warning track to new established elevations. L. Rebuild pitching mound and bullpens to new grades with 4 inch cap of Blackstick mound clay over entire mound area new Bulldog pitching rubbers. M. Rebuild Homeplate area with Blackstick mound clay on batters box, catchers box and new Bulldog Homeplate. N. Install new artificial turf in catchers area of bullpens with proper aggregate layer. O. Separate two hose couplers behind mound and reinstall in two separate valve boxes. P. Install eight inch PVC pipe from dugout to back of mound for tarp air exhaust hole. Q. Install conduit for electrical line adjacent to PVC pipe for air exhaust hole. R. Install big roll Kentucky Bluegrass sod. S. Re-set all irrigation heads and quick coupler valves. T. All spoils to be removed from site
