The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to implement a program developed by a qualified service provider to provide reliable collection and disposal services for solid waste and organics to the residents of Drumheller. The current collection system is automated cart collection for solid and organic waste, with recyclables delivered by resident to a Recycle Yard located along Railway Avenue NW which are then transported to the Drumheller and District Solid Waste Management Facility (DDSWMF). Mixed solid and organic waste is disposed of at the Drumheller and District Solid Waste Management Facility. Curbside paper products and packaging recycling collection is not in place at this time though the intention is to explore and potentially implement automated recycling curbside cart collection during the life of this contract.
