In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing labor, materials and equipment for the construction of municipal improvements. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the repair, alteration, replacement and construction of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, sidewalk crossings, curb ramps, cross gutters, concrete and hot mix asphalt pavement, dikes, decomposed granite sidewalks, retaining walls, storm drain systems, sewer line systems, lighting, brick surfacing, paver surfacing, interlocking pavers, sawcutting uplifted portions of sidewalks and miscellaneous associated work at such times and locations as required. The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, methods and processes, implements, tools, equipment, incidentals and machinery except as otherwise specified, which are necessary and required to complete the contract in a satisfactory and workmanlike manner. The intent of the plans and specifications is to prescribe the details for the construction and completion of the work which the Contractor undertakes to perform in accordance with the terms of the contract. Where the plans or specifications describe portions of the work in general terms, but not in complete detail, it is understood that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only materials and workmanship of the best quality are to be used. Bids shall be valid for 90 Days after the bid opening date. It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to download all bid documents for review before submitting a bid. Any Addenda will be posted electronically. It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to check online on a daily basis through the close of bids for any applicable addenda or updates. The City does not assume any liability or responsibility based on any defective or incomplete copying, scanning, downloading or printing of the bid documents. Information online may change without notice to prospective bidders. The Contract Documents shall supersede any information posted or transmitted by electronically.
