The DBE Contract Goal for this project is: 0% Each bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid: (1) cash; (2) a cashier's check made payable to the City of Avenal; (3) a certified check made payable to the City of Avenal; or (4) a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the City of Avenal. Each bidder must be a licensed contractor as required by law at the time the contract is awarded. The bidder who is awarded the project contract will be allowed pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300 to substitute securities for the payment of funds withheld under the contract. In addition, the successful bidder must furnish: (1) a faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price; and (2) a payment bond (also referred to as a labor and material bond) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. All bonds must be in a form approved by the City of Avenal and must conform to California law (see Code of Civil Procedure section 995.010 et seq.).
