Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Lake Forest, Illinois. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The City of Lake Forest is seeking a qualified engineering firm to perform Phase I Design Engineering services for the replacement of Ringwood Bridge. Phase I Design Engineering Services will include, but are not limited to, project design, extensive community outreach and historic preservation coordination, preliminary cost estimate, and the procurement of all the necessary permits. The project will require reviews and approvals by IDOT. As of December 13, 2024, City Council has approved an engineering/design team. A Tentative construction date would be determined upon award of federal funds, however, is estimated around 2029/2030 at the earliest. Construction of this project is currently unfunded and dependent on receiving an Illinois Special Bridge Program (ISBP) grant award with the remaining balance to be funded by MFT funds. Any design and construction amount above that would be local capital funds. The current estimated construction cost is $4,000,000 which is solely a rough estimate as a bridge-type has not yet been determined.
