REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 412 CEG/CEN Edwards AFB, CA 1.0 Description 1.1 Edwards Air Force Base Contracting in support of 412 CEG/CEN Edwards AFB, CA is seeking Capability Statements for the below anticipated renovation project. 1.2 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Air Force is not, at this time, seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the System for Award Management (SAM.gov). It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2.0 Background 2.1 Synopsis of Facility and Project Requirements: Title: Child Development Center B6457 Renovation The Child Development Center , building 6457, is a single-story building comprised of approximately 32,712 SF built in 1996 with a 2,700 SF addition completed in 2007. The facility is undersized, and cannot meet the demand for quality, safe, and affordable childcare services to meet the needs of the Base's diverse military and civilian population. Currently, the facility houses 16 child activity rooms (CAR) divided into age groups to include 3 infant, 3 pre-toddler, 4 toddler, and 6 pre-school CARs. In addition, there are numerous support spaces including kitchen, storage, offices, training, resource, restrooms (for public and staff), laundry, reception, lobby, mechanical, electrical and communication rooms. The Phased Renovation effort upgrades interior finishes throughout the Child Development Center following the requirements outlined in FC 4-740-14F, Air Force Child Development Center Design Standards. Finishes will include, painting, floor coverings, casework and counters, wall protection, doors, and windows. Replacement of HVAC chiller and add redundancy to Heating and Cooling equipment. Renovation efforts will also include selective replacement of Plumbing system and Replacement of fire alarm system and sprinkler heads.
