The City's AWPF treats effluent from the Oxnard Wastewater Treatment Plant (OWTP) using micro-filtration and reverse osmosis to produce pure recycled water. The City's recycled water is distributed to agricultural and industrial customers. The City of Oxnard is currently constructing an ASR demonstration well for indirect potable reuse. The City of Oxnard plans to make improvements to the existing AWPF and expand it from the current 6.25 million gallons per day (MGD) capacity to the full capacity of 15 MGD and to achieve indirect potable reuse of the advanced treated recycled water. Oxnard is a vibrant and growing community of approximately 210,000 people, being the most populous city in Ventura County, having a land area of nearly 27 square miles and over 20 miles of coastline.
