Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Kansas City, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a parking garage; for site work for a parking garage; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Kansas City, Missouri ("the City") is soliciting proposals for the design and construction of a structured parking garage to serve the parking needs of the 18th and Vine Jazz District. The district is experiencing tremendous growth and investment with multiple renovations and new mixed-use commercial/residential projects both in, and immediately adjacent to, the district. With an existing residential, business, and cultural attraction base, the need for additional parking solutions is paramount to the development and sustainability of the district. The City wishes to continue the development of the 18th and Vine area as a mixed-use district with commercial, residential, office land uses, strategically located parking, and within a pedestrian friendly street network that accommodates all users. The desired outcome is for the City to partner with qualified developers to maximize the opportunity for additional development in the district while at the same time maximizing the number of available parking spaces available to serve the district. The City wishes to create no less than 400 parking spaces to serve the needs of the district as part of this initiative. The City has identified the general location within which projects must be located. Please see the map in appendix A. Projects outside of this area will not be considered. Proposers shall submit any questions regarding additional background information or site-specific issues via email no later than AUGUST 5, 2024. Responses to all questions will be posted to the KC Plan Room via addendum AUGUST 7, 2024. The City reserves the right to change or extend any and all dates including the due date for proposals for any reason at any time including after the due date for proposals.
