Site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Watertown, Wisconsin. Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
As of July 24, 2025, a consultant has been selected. It is currently in negotiations. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. The purpose of this request for proposals is to solicit professional planning and engineering services from qualified firms to create the City of Watertown Tivoli Island Historic Bridge Study. The Tivoli Island Historic Bridge Study will serve as a guide for improvements and maintenance of the historic Tivoli Island Bridge, a 105-foot-long historic bowstring truss bridge that spans a channel of the Rock River. This bridge provides access to Tivoli Island Natural Park. The resulting study should position the City to aggressively compete for grant projects to improve and preserve this historic bridge. The City received Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funding for this project.
