RFP On-Call Traffic Engineering & Management Services - 2024 The Long Beach Utilities Department (LBUD) is interested in establishing agreements with enginering and traffic management firms for On-Call Traffic Engineering and Management Services to assist in the Department's capital improvement programs and other projects. These services are necessary to address miscellaneous traffic engineering and management needs for projects on an as-needed basis. LBUD anticipates awarding up to two (2) contracts for three (3) years for an aggregate amount of $300,000. The Consultant must have the ability to respond to inquiries and mobilize competent personnel within twenty-four hours of notification. The services requested will pertain to gas, potable water, recycled water and sewer system facilities. The selected consultant must be able to provide specializations including but not limited to: Prepare traffic control plans (TCP) for temporary construction based on either design plans, GIS maps, as-builts, field conditions, etc., provided to consultant by LBUD. Prepare traffic detour and control plans and specifications, as needed for projects, in accordance with the most recent version of all applicable standards, including but not limited to Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications, California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), and the City of Long Beach Public Works Standard Plans Section 340-386 (LB Standard Plans). Provide traffic control design that has been prepared, reviewed, stamped, and signed by a Registered Civil Engineer or Registered Traffic Engineer licensed by the State of California. Assist LBUD in coordinating and acquiring all permits required by the City of Long Beach, Department of Public Works, and/or by the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS), depending on work location. Provide traffic control field services per the CA MUTCD, part 6 - temporary traffic control, LB Standard Plans, and in accordance with the accepted TCP. Furnish and mobilize temporary traffic control equipment and personnel to the work zone within 24 hours. For emergency work, furnish and mobilize temporary traffic control equipment and personnel to the work zone no more than 2 hours.
