Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in La Monte, Missouri. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of December 10, 2024, this project remains on hold and is expected to re-advertise for bidding in February 2025. Construction could follow in second quarter 2025. The proposed treatment work generally includes provision of a nitrification (ammonia reduction pods) system (or equivalent system), closure of a recirculating sand filter bed, retrofitting an existing dosing chamber, addition of a disinfection system, new effluent pumps, controls, flow measurement, site work, piping and an emergency power system. Collection system improvements generally consists of replacement of new air release valves, along with some minor fitting replacements and repairs where parts have worn, new septic tank effluent pumps, piping modifications, and other related work. Wage rates paid on construction work for this project shall be at least equal to the prevailing wage rates as specified in the contract documents and specifications. State wage rates are applicable. Each separate bid must be accompanied by certified check or bank cashier's check payable to the Owner, or a Bid Bond, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company meeting the requirements as referenced in the Instructions to Bidders in the amount of 5% of the bid. The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond on the forms provided, payable to the City of La Monte, and in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price in conformity with the requirements of the General Conditions. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and wage rates to be paid under the contract, Segregated Facility, Section 109, and E.O. 11246. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order Number 11246. Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Proposals must be on forms provided and all unit price bids, extensions and total provided thereon shall be completed fully.
