The Town of Chelmsford, through its Department of Public Works - Facilities Division, is seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering or architectural consulting firms to conduct assessments and recommendations for elevator rehabilitations or replacements, develop the technical components of the construction documents, and provide construction oversight for the rehabilitation/replacement elevator project. The two elevator locations are the Chelmsford Town Offices (50 Billerica Road, Chelmsford, MA) and the Senior Center (75 Groton Road, North Chelmsford, MA). The Town has $750,000 budgeted for the design and construction of this project. To assist the Town in this effort, the Town is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit responses from qualified Bidders who can meet the project requirements stated herein. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. The Town of Chelmsford Reserves the Right to Waive Any Informality and/or to Reject Any or All Bids if Deemed to Be in the Best Interest of the Town. Paul E. Questions pertaining to this RFP must be submitted via email to Rick Alexander, Facilities Project Manager (ralexander@chelmsfordma.gov) by 4:00 pm on April 29, 2025. Written responses will be emailed to all proposers on record by 4:00 p.m. on May 1, 2025 and will also be posted on the Town of Chelmsford website (www.chelmsfordma.gov/bids.aspx) in the form of an Addenda. Award will take place within 30 business days of the Bid Opening Bids received prior to the time established for the receipt of bids will be securely kept and unopened. No responsibility will be attached to the Owner for the premature opening of a bid not properly addressed and identified. Any bid may be withdrawn by written request up to one hour prior to the opening of bids. During the thirty-day period following the opening of bids, no bidder may withdraw his proposal.
