A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Removal of existing overhead span traffic signal, installation of new overhead span traffic signal, controller cabinet with equipment, (6) pedestrian signals with pushbuttons, ancillary equipment, conduits, conductors and concrete sidewalk as shown on plans and specifications The Town of Groton reserves the right to waive any formalities or to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the form of bid bond or certified check subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. f the total amount of the bid submitted exceeds $50,000, or if the bid contains any add alternates and the combination of the base bid plus all add alternates exceeds $50,000, then the bid must be accompanied by a CERTIFIED CHECK or a BID BOND, signed by a responsible Surety, in the amount of 10% of the total amount of the tendered bid and made payable to the order of the Town of Groton. All bid checks or bonds, except those of the lower three (3) bidders will be returned within ten (10) days of the opening of bids. Those of the lower three (3) bidders will be retained by the Town of Groton until one of the lower three (3) bidders signs the contract or until all bids are rejected; however, in no case will the bid check or bond be retained for more than 60 days unless forfeited as hereinafter stipulated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. BIDDER must agree to commence work on or before a date to be specified in a written Notice to Proceed from the OWNER and to fully complete the project within 180 consecutive calendar days thereafter All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Owner at tthorndike@groton-ct.gov / 860-448-4069. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Owner in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda posted to the Town's website. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
