The Park and Trails Development Team focuses on new builds, renewals, and connectivity. Park renewals are an ongoing effort to address aging infrastructure in alignment with the goal to provide safe, clean, and wellmaintained environments for the public Roosevelt Park is over 20 acres of multiuse space donated to the City in 1892. The property is shared with the Longmont Memorial Building, built in 1951 and the Senior Center, built in 1976. A public input driven master plan was adopted in 1998, leading to the development of an activity pool and a large pavilion that transforms into a skating rink in the winter months. The park also features a beautiful rose garden, many bronze sculptures, a vast multiuse field, and a playground neighboring a historic stone shelter. The park sees many visitors throughout the year and hosts several large events, such as Rhythm at Roosevelt, while offering a favorite respite for the community.
