Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, made payable to the CITY OF BLUE SPRINGS in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid or by a bond with an Incorporated Surety licensed to do business in the State of Missouri in the sum of five percent (5%) of the total bid, which may be retained by the Owner until the Contract for the project shall have been executed. Bid Checks will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders when their bids are rejected. Bid check of the successful bidder shall be retained until a satisfactory performance, two-year maintenance and payment bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract, shall have been furnished. Wage rates paid on construction work for this project shall be at least equal to the Division of Labor Standards of the State of Missouri. The City of Blue Springs, Missouri reserves the right to award the contract by sections, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
