Sealed bids for a LUMP SUM subcontract are invited from Framing/Drywall/Insulation subcontractors (hereinafter "Subcontractors") for the following work: (Wellness) 09.02-Framing/Drywall/Insulation- B or C-2 & C-9 $55,000 ALIGN BUILDERS, INC. is the CM/Contractor for this UC San Diego project. The CM/GC is intending to prequalify/bid on this package, however UC San Diego will receive and review all bids for this bid package. JMC Zuckerman Family Emergency Department Staff Wellness Center and Lounge University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA General Description: The proposed new Wellness Lounge will service the Emergency Department medical staff, including doctors, nurses, nursing staff and other medical staff and will be in the existing shell space in Jacob's Medical Center First Floor. The project is approximately 1,100SF to accommodate proposed layout. The project will provide a lounge area, charting area, locker storage, two restrooms, and lactation room. The University has bid and awarded a CM at Risk Contract to ALIGN BUILDERS, INC. (hereafter "CM/Contractor"). CM/Contractor is responsible for bidding and awarding all subsequent subcontractor packages, including this package. The successful Subcontractor Bidder shall sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with CM/Contractor, and shall be bound by all the terms of the contract between University and CM/Contractor. Refer to "AGREEMENT (CMAR with GMP)", which contains the contract between University and CM/Contractor, attached to the subcontract bidding documents and incorporated by this reference. Bid Package 09.02 Framing/Drywall/Insulation (this contract): This Bid Package consists of framing, insulation, drywall, and finishing of new interior partitions, furred walls, and ceilings/soffits per the plans. This package will be responsible for the demo and re-framing required for the new door opening. This package will also be responsible for temporary construction barriers. The estimated construction cost of this bid package is $55,000. List of Prequalified Subcontractors: Align Builders, Inc. Miller Paneling Specialties, Inc. Nevell Group, Inc. Standard Drywall, Inc. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B General Building Contractor or C-2 Insulation and Acoustical Contractor AND C-9 Drywall Contractor. In addition, the University and Align Builders, Inc. are committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Potential bidders will be required to submit their small business outreach plan to the University as part of the prequalification process. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the contract between the University and the CM/Contractor, and to pay prevailing wage at the location of work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
