The Prairie Apartments were built circa 1960 and consist of a three-story masonry structure with precast prestressed concrete floor slabs, a partial unfinished basement and low slope roof. It is approximately twenty six feet (26') from grade to top of the parapet at the east facade. The main entrance is located at the east elevation of and accessed via a sidewalk from South Prairie Avenue. There are currently 24 residential units, 8 per floor, which will be accessed from a new enclosed interior stair from the primary entrance and a reconfigured enclosed rear stair.
