The scope of work consists of resurfacing various streets throughout the City. Resurfacing methods include slurry sealing (type II), pulverization, and grind & overlay. Asphalt overlay will be the conventional asphalt. All necessary striping will be replaced. The scope of work also includes removal and replacement of curb & gutter, driveway approach, sidewalk, and cross gutter as necessary; protecting in place all existing utilities, trees, and public and private improvements; pavement striping and restriping; replacing destroyed survey monuments; disposing of excess soil and rock material and restoring all areas and improvements to pre-construction conditions. Bid security, in the form of a cashier's check, a certified check made to the order of the City of Redlands, or a Bidder's Bond, and in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid is required to be submitted with each Bid. Said check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into contract with the City of Redlands if awarded the work, and will be declared forfeited if the selected bidder fails to enter into contract within fourteen (14) days after Notice of Award. The Bidder to whom award is made will be required to furnish a Labor and Material Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond each in an amount of 100% of the Bid amount, from surety company satisfactory to the City of Redlands.
