The Village of Burk's Falls will receive submissions for Tender for the supply, treatment, and delivery of approximately 1,000 cubic yards of sand (to be mixed with salt provided by Village). This tender is for 2024. 1.1 Scope of Work: supply, treat, deliver, stockpile 1,000 cubic yards of winter sand and mix with salt. Salt to be supplied by the Village of Burk's Falls. 1.2 Delivery is to the Public Works yard sand dome at 140 Dimsdale Street. Delivery times and dates must be prearranged with the Village. 1.3 Stockpiling is best done using conveyor belt system, provided by contractor. 1.4 Sand shall be screened using a 12 mm screen and shall contain 100% materials 12 mm in diameter or less. 1.5 Sand shall not contain soft or friable particles or dirt in excess of 8% as determined by the Ministry of Transportation abrasion test. 1.6 Sand extraction must be from a valid licensed industrial pit or quarry. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure proper operations and licensing. A copy of the Aggregate Resources Act License for source material must accompany tender. 1.7 Salt will be supplied by the Village and mixing will be the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall provide 72 hours' notice to the Village for delivery of salt. 1.8 The Work shall be completed by October 18, 2024. Bidders are required to submit a certified cheque made out to the Village of Burk's Falls for 10% of the total bid price. Unsuccessful bidders' cheques will be returned upon award of the contract and the successful bidder's cheque will be returned upon satisfactory completion.
