Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field.

The project, in general, consists of but not limited to, demolition of the existing restroom building and play structure area, a portion of the parking lot and adjacent concrete walkways. Grading for new building pad, play equipment areas and parking. Reconnect existing utilities to new restroom building. Construct new accessible parking stalls, install pre-manufactured restroom building, play equipment and rubber safety surfacing. Modify the existing sprinklers system as required to allow for new park improvements. Bid Preparation Cost: Bidders are solely responsible for the cost of preparing their Bids. 1.07 Reservation of Rights: Owner specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. ARTICLE 2 - LEGAL REQUIREMENTS 2.01 Required Contractor's License(s): A California "B" contractors license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. 2.02 Substitution of Securities: Owner will permit the successful bidder to substitute securities for any retention monies withheld to ensure performance of the contract, as set forth in Document 00 6290 Escrow Agreement For Security Deposits In Lieu Of Retention and incorporated herein in full by this reference, in accordance with Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code. 2.03 Prevailing Wage Laws: Pursuant to Part 7 of Division 2 of the California Labor Code (Section 1720 et seq.) the Contractor shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages to workers on this project as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. The Director's schedule of prevailing rates is on file and open for inspection at County of Kern, General Services Division of the County Administrative Office, 1115 Truxtun Avenue, Third Floor, Bakersfield, California 93301, and is incorporated herein by this reference. This project may be subject to monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), including the obligation to submit certified payroll records directly to the DIR Compliance Monitoring Unit (CMU) at least monthly in a format prescribed by the Labor Commissioner. The contractor must post job site notices as prescribed by DIR regulation. 2.04 Required Registration with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations: Pursuant to California Labor Code 1725.5, all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) in order to be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any public work contract.
