Site work for a water / sewer project in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The installation of approximately 22,000 linear feet of 4- to 16-inch diameter ductile iron water main within the Main Street corridor between the Upper Common/Mechanic Street and North Street. Installation shall be completed via open cut methods, including removal and replacement of existing water main for a portion of the total extent. Work also includes installation of cut-in valves, temporary water main system, water main abandonment, removal of 4- to 16-inch water main, and water service transfer work on Prospect Street. Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurers or cashiers check payable to the OWNER, is required in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, in accordance with the Section The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated. Substantial Completion Base Bid 330 calendar days Base Bid plus Bid Alternate No. 1 add 90 calendar days Final Completion Base Bid 460 calendar days Base Bid plus Bid Alternate No. 1 add 50 calendar days The City of Fitchburg reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, or to reject any and all bids, wholly or in part.
