These intersections were selected as part of the City's Circulation Improvement Program which included 25 projects that will improve circulation and decrease congestion citywide. For this project, the design will focus on the three (3) locations listed below: o Westbound Newhall Ranch Road on the approach to McBean Parkway o Northbound Golden Valley Road on the approach to Centre Pointe Parkway. o Eastbound Magic Mountain Parkway on the approach to Valencia Boulevard. This project entails the modification of existing raised medians to accommodate a westbound triple leftturn lane on Newhall Ranch Road at McBean Parkway, the modification of existing curb, gutter, and parkway for an additional northbound thru lane at Golden Valley Road and Centre Pointe Parkway, and the modification to existing raised medians to accommodate an eastbound triple left-turn lane on Magic Mountain Parkway at Valencia Boulevard. The modifications are based on staff's analysis of traffic volumes and observations of traffic patterns at these (3) signalized intersections.
