All Bids in excess of $50,000.00 must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bank certified check, cash, or a Bid Bond underwritten by a surety company licensed to issue Bid Bonds in the State of Kansas. The bid security shall be in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. For contracts in excess of $50,000.00, submit a performance bond to the Unified Government Clerk, in the amount of 100% of the contract price and a payment bond to the State of Kansas in the amount of 100% of the price specified in the contract for the protection of all persons supplying labor, materials, equipment, and supplies to the contractor or its subcontractor. The Contractor will complete all the Work required by the Contract Documents within one hundred twenty (120) Days after the date established in the Notice to Proceed unless the period for completion is otherwise extended by mutual agreement in writing by the Parties. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work within this period or any mutually agreed extension of time, it further agrees to pay, as liquidated damages, the sum of $1,200.00 for each Day thereafter as provided in Section 24 of the General Conditions.
