As of July 9, 2025, construction is underway for both Fire Station #22 and Fire Station #26. Construction on Fire Station #22 started March 2025. The duration of the project will be as 13 months. Constrtruction on Fire Station #22 will end April 2026. Construction on Fire Station #26 started on April 2025 and will end on May 2026. Wharton-Smith, Inc. is proudly the Construction Manager serving the City of Palm Coast. We are soliciting bids from prequalified subcontractors for the construction of the New Palm Coast Fire Station #22, New Palm Coast Fire Station #26 and Renovation of Palm Coast Fire Station # 25 . The new Fire Stations (#22 & 26) are prototype/identical buildings that consist of: Construction of (2) new 10,500 SF single story CMU, fire stations, with PVC roofs and include the following trades: earthwork, underground utilities, paving, irrigation, landscaping, fencing, concrete (including heavy duty), masonry, structural steel, PVC roofing, sealants, doors, frames & hardware, overhead doors, specialty 4-fold bay doors, windows, storefront, gypsum wallboard assemblies, acoustical ceilings, epoxy flooring/base/walls, resilient and tile flooring, hard tile, carpeting, acoustic panel ceilings, painting, signage, visual display & marker boards, toilet compartments & accessories, firefighter grid lockers, flagpoles, bike racks, food service specialties, casework, fire sprinklers, plumbing (including nat. gas and compressed air), HVAC and electrical and technology (including nat. gas emergency generator, Access Control, A/V, CCTV, Video Surveillance, BDA & fire station alerting system). The following are differences between the new fire stations: FS #22 contains Battalion Chief Quarters/Office and a freestanding Firefighter Training stair tower. FS #26 has no battalion Chief quarters and no training stair tower but includes an above ground Confined Space Training Prop (RCP pipe and structures). Existing Fire Station # 25 consists of: Adding heavy duty paved entrance and drive lane, replacing the existing sectional overhead doors with new 4-fold bay doors, Infill of door opening with CMU, plumbing (including replaced tankless water heater and assoc. natural gas), HVAC flue vent and electrical and technology. The projects may be awarded to separate trade contractors as stand-alone projects The projects will be constructed in a staggered concurrent manner to allow subs to utilize the same labor forces on all 3 projects Anticipated award date is December 2024Anticipated mobilization February 2025New Fire Stations will have 13-month construction durations MBE/WBE Subcontractors & Suppliers are encouraged to participate.
