Work to be accomplished in accord with this contract includes the removal and replacement of approximately 345 LF of 8" and 4,827 LF of 10" gravity sewer main, removal of 570 LF of 18" gravity sewer main and replacement with 10" gravity sewer main, replacement of 4 sanitary sewer manholes, removal and replacement of 308 LF of 4", 623 LF of 6" and 59 LF of 8" sewer lateral, replacement of 5 sanitary sewer manhole frames and covers, adjustment of 8 sanitary sewer manhole frames and covers, and miscellaneous sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation to include grout, parging and lining and manholes, channel installation or reconstruction, concrete collar replacement, frame and cover grouting, along with the abandonment of 10 sanitary sewer manholes, 4 sewer laterals and 1,482 LF of 8" gravity sewer main. Additionally, the work includes Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining of 267 LF of 8" and 2,459 of 10" gravity sewer main, 1,512 LF of root treatment, 1 protruding lateral removal along with cleaning and pre-lining and post lining closed caption television inspection of lined gravity sewer main as well as lateral reinstatement post lining. All work includes bypass pumping sized to provide at a minimum twice the normal flow rate of the gravity sewer mains. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to ten percent of the bid amount and all additive alternates. The successful bidder must post a performance bond and payment bond in a sum equal to 100 percent of the contract price upon execution of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein. The Owner may extend the time and place for the opening of the bids from that described in the advertisement, with not less than two calendar days notice by certified delivery, facsimile machine or other electronic means to those bidders receiving plans.
