Ass of November 6, 2025, this project is in the feasibility study phase. A firm has been selected for the study. After the study is completed, they city will apply for a grant for construction funding. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") is being issued by the City of Peekskill ("the City") for Engineering Services to provide a Sewer System Extension Study at Fleischmann Pier. The project proposes to extend the City's existing sewer system to Fleischmann Pier for the purpose of connecting it to bathroom facilities (currently a modular building with a holding tank) and to facilitate the installation of a discharge station for large, touring vessels. These measures are also intended to ensure responsible waste management and prevent harmful substances from entering the Hudson River. The study would include a Preliminary Engineer's Report outlining the feasibility of the project as well as recommended improvements to extend the sewer line, connect to the bathroom facilities and accommodate waste management strategies for the larger vessels. A detailed analysis will be necessary to monitor the impact on the City's current collection system. This study should factor in the current capacity of existing pumping stations and downstream collection system piping. The overall design and method shall be determined by the engineer. The City received $50,000 in funding from the Environmental Facilities Corporation for this Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Planning Grant (EPG) and costs shall not exceed this amount. Companies with demonstrated experience in Municipal/Waterfront Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Projects and Public Funding Agency Administration interested in making their services available to the City are invited to respond to this RFQ. "Respondents" means the companies or individuals that submit qualifications in response to this RFQ. It is understood that the selected Respondent acting as an individual, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity, is licensed to provide such services in New York State. The Respondent shall be financially solvent and each of its members if a joint venture, its employees, agents, or subconsultants of any tier shall be competent to perform the services required under this RFQ document. Nothing in this RFQ shall be construed to create any legal obligation on the part of the City or any respondents. The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend, suspend, terminate, or reissue this RFQ in whole or in part, at any stage. In no event shall the City be liable to respondents for any cost incurred in connection with the RFQ process, including but not limited to, any and all costs of preparing a response to this RFQ or any other costs incurred in reliance on this RFQ. No respondent shall be entitled to repayment from the City for any costs, expenses or fees related to this RFQ. All supporting documentation submitted in response to this RFQ will become the property of the City. Respondents may also withdraw their interest in the RFQ, in writing, at any point in time as more information becomes known Time of Response Respondents will have approximately two weeks to provide a response to this RFQ. The City will then review the qualifications for selection in August/September and possibly interview via Zoom with qualifying firms.
