US 24 Hwy and River Blvd Water Main Replacement Project The City reserves the right to reject any bid if the information is not submitted in a timely manner or the information,orsubsequentinvestigation,failstosatisfytheCitythatsuchbidderisproperlyqualifiedto carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work as specified in the ITB. Licensed businesses operating from a physical address in the City of Independence for a minimum of six (6) months when quality, service and other terms of the purchases are equal to or better than the low bid. The local business shall be given a preference of ten percent (10%) over the low bid, provided that the difference between the low bid and the local bid does not exceed thirty thousand dollars($30,000.00)maximum If a contract is issued from this ITB that is valued at $75,000 or above, the contract shall be based upon payment by the contractor or contractor's subcontractors of wage rates not less than prevailing hourly wage rate for each craft or classification of workers engaged to perform the work as determined by the Industrial Commission of Missouri on behalf of the Department of Labor and industrial Relations. The contract provides for, but is not limited to, installation of approximately 1,570 ft. of 12-inch. d.i. class 52 water pipe designated as "Line A", starting at a point south of US Highway 24 on Crysler Ave. then extending to the north side of US Highway 24 turning east and running along US highway 24 to a point east of River Blvd. as indicated on the drawings, 6-inch d.i. class 52 water pipe on the north side of US 24 Highway at Willis Ave., 100' of 20" steel casing crossing US Highway 24 to the south at Grand Ave., approximately 42 ft. of 8-inch d.i. class 52 water pipe at River Blvd.; and approximately 1,250 ft. of 12-inch d.i. class 52 water pipe designated as "Line C", starting at a point of US highway 24 then extending north along the east side of River Blvd and connecting to the existing water main located at the intersection of W. Nickel Ave. and River Blvd. including all labor, materials and equipment and all necessary appurtenances to complete the project as specified. Project also includes all subsequent service lines, MUTCD compliant traffic control measures, all labor, materials, equipment, and all appurtenant work necessary for the completion of the project, as specified in the contract documents.
