Reference Number 0000359133 Question Deadline 08/28/2024 Any bidder taking exception to, or questioning any of the provisions, procedures, conditions or specifications herein stated should make such exceptions known to the undersigned, in writing, not less than five (5) days before the bid opening. The technical point of contact for this package is Scott Wheeler (401) 845-5802, email - swheeler@cityofnewport.com. The Contractor shall submit two copies (one of these copies shall satisfy R.I. Gen. Law 37-2- 18(j), referenced below) of the Bids/Proposals in sealed envelopes addressed to the Purchasing Office, City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, R.I. 02840, and must be plainly marked in the lower left-hand corner, "Murphy Field Tennis and Basketball Court Restoration -Bid# 25- 641". The City requests that each bidder provide one (1) electronic copy on a CD with your hardcopy submittal. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to permanently restore the one tennis court, consisting of two play courts, one full size basketball court and one mini basketball court. The work shall be performed per these Contract Documents and all included Items, their associated Specifications and Details under the direction of the City. Construction items are identified within the City Standard Specifications for Construction within City Right-of-Way, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation's (RIDOT) Rhode Island Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, amended December 2010 with all latest revision. The location of work shall be confined to Murphy Park; located at the intersection of Carol Ave and Ruggles Ave. Bidders shall provide lump sum pricing for each of the three projects listed as items in the bid. The dimensions provided are estimates. Bidders shall be responsible for accurately measuring the three court areas and determining the quantities of all materials required for the project. We encourage all bidders to read the entire bid package to fully understand the scope of the project and the requirements set forth by the city. Each Bidder must submit, at a minimum, the completed proposal pages; including the acknowledgement of addendum, unit bid prices, questionnaire, corporate information page and a certified check or proposal bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid amount, satisfactory to and payable to the order of the City of Newport, RI. Failure to submit all required documentation may result in disqualification of the bid. The right is reserved, as the interest of the City may require, to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive any technical defect or informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof.
