Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Work anticipated to be performed under this contract is as follows: o Clearing, grubbing, and structure excavation o Installing high visibility fence and compost sock o Remove pavement, curb and gutter, pipe, and guardrail o Paving with hot mix asphalt (including roadway pavement and asphalt raised edge) o Constructing storm drainage improvements o Filling existing ditches with gravel borrow, topsoil, and quarry spalls o Installing channelization and bollards o Installing cement concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter o And all incidental items necessary to complete the Work as described in the Plans and Specifications. Bidders are not to contact the City of Des Moines or the Engineer to obtain Bid Documents. Any questions concerning the description of the work contained in the Contract Documents must be directed in writing to the City Project Manager, Tyler Beekley, via email at tbeekleY@desmoineswa.gov prior to the Bid Opening. Question received after August 19th, 2024 will not be responded to prior to Bid Opening. The Engineer's estimated cost is in the range of $1,700,000 to $2,100,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, postal money order, or bid bond made payable to the City of Des Moines in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Bid bonds shall be in a form satisfactory to the City Attorney. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactorily the bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit will be forfeited to the City of Des Moines. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding and to make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. All schedules on the Bid Proposal must be completed, or the bid shall be considered non-responsive. Basis for award shall be the lowest total Bid for Base Bid or Alternate(s) included in the Proposal as described in Section 1-02.6 of the Special Provisions. The City of Des Moines hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color creed, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. The (City of Des Moines) in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4 and title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs ofthe Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
