Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bristol, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; and medical facility.

Summary Project Description: This project consists of an interior buildout of a landlord provided building. This buildout consists of brand-new offices, conference room, break room and kitchen, and storage spaces, as well as a health center with reception and waiting areas, (2) exam rooms, (1) dental room, laboratory, office, and mechanical / storage spaces. Design intent follows client provided guidelines to keep existing walls as much as possible and retrofit the space with upgrades to openings as necessary with all new finishes. Existing flooring, ceiling, and lights are to remain where possible.. This project shall be subject to prevailing wage rates. Enclosed within these specifications are prevailing wage rates as issued by the State of Connecticut Department of Labor. The successful bidder shall include any additional costs associated with prevailing wage rates as part of its bid. Contract Scope: Construction, demolition, and renovation. Hazardous Materials: Preliminary investigations completed by the Owner identify possible asbestos containing materials. Information is available from the Owner upon request. Should hazardous materials be encountered during the work, stop work and notifiy the Owner and Architect. Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "Bid 2C26-002 Renovations at Beals Community Center" accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 % of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol. The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates as outlined within G.G.S. 31-53 are to apply to the resultant contract award. All work shall be completed no later than 270 days from date of notice to proceed. Liquidated damages of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars shall be paid by the Contractor to the City for each and every calendar day after the completion date hereinbefore specified. All or a portion of the liquidated damages may be abated for cause by agreement between the City and the Contractor. Liquidated damages will be deducted from monies due the Contractor before final payment. Question Deadline 10/01/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Questions and RFI's may be sent to Purchasing@bristolct.gov. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
