This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Bristol, Connecticut. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The City of Bristol is accepting proposals for bulky waste disposal services for the period through June 30, 2027, as defined in and per the attached bid specifications. Materials accepted by the City are subject to stringent separation requirements; sheetrock, shingles, and ceramics must be separated from any materials. Materials come primarily from small businesses and individuals holding bulky waste permits issued by the Public Works Department. Approximately 600 cubic yards (200 tons) are accepted annually by the Public Works Department, with approximately two hauls per month. The City may elect to haul the materials to the selected contractor's facility, per existing regulatory standards. The City may alternatively require the contractor to haul the materials from the City's Transfer Station, at the contractor's expense, and via the Contractor's equipment, to the contractor's disposal facility. The City will make acceptance of either Bid Option 1 or Bid Option 2, following receipt and review of proposals received. The City of Bristol reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bid responses, in whole or in part, to waive technical defects, irregularities and omissions if, in its judgement, the best interests of the City will be served. Determination of the best interests of the City shall include consideration of active or pending civil litigation between the City and any firm (or its subcontractor or supplier) submitting a bid to the City.
