Renovation of a municipal facility in Bristol, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Installation of gas-fired Modine heaters at Public Works facilities, as outlined in the specifications available via the document link noted below. RELEASE OF BONDS: The Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond shall not be released until final payment and final acceptance of the entire work is made as a guarantee against claims and suits that may be entered against the City for actions or negligence of the Contractor in the performance of the work. With the exception of the final payment, five percent (5%) of all payments shall be retained to guarantee the repairs that may be ordered by the Engineer for defective materials or workmanship during the one (1) year maintenance period. The City reserves the right to retain in excess of the 5% should it deem additional guarantee necessary for legal claims against the City resulting from actions under this Contract. Proposal submissions will be accepted by the Purchasing Department until the time and date noted above; submissions received after this date and time will not be considered. Interested firms are required to submit one original copy via digital media of the proposal to Roger Rousseau, Purchasing Agent, no later than the date and time noted above. Submissions may be made via email, shared file service, or USB drive delivered to the address noted below; the City does not assume responsibility for the failure of submissions to be received by the City by the date and time noted above. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Bids must be firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days following the bid opening. The City of Bristol is seeking to install gas heaters at its Public Works, as noted below. Remove existing unit heaters and associated venting, and either patch and seal roof opening, or reuse existing vent opening for new vent installation, where applicable as noted on the drawings. Install concrete pads where noted for placement of propane tanks. Install new Modine unit heaters, including all connections to gas, electrical, ventilation, etc for full operational use. Perform all work as shown within the attached project drawings. The City of Bristol seeks completion of work within the Mechanic's bays/ Main Garage prior to winter onset, with other areas addressed to subsequent to completion of this work.
