The work to be bid is generally described as follows: 3,036 L.F. - 30" Dia. & 18" Dia. gravity sewer with accessories 270 L.F. - 36" Steel Casing by Bore and Jack 14 - Concrete Pre-cast Manholes with accessories Only pre-qualified bidders with experience in extra depth (>25') gravity sanitary sewer installation (of similar diameter) are allowed to participate in this project. Please contact Engineer prior to bid date for instructions on becoming pre-qualified. Any bid submitted by a bidder who is not prequalified in gravity sanitary sewer installation will not be accepted. All pre-qualification documentation must be submitted to Engineer seven days prior to Bid Date. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Shelbyville Municipal Water and Sewer Commission in an amount of not less than 10 percent of the base bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 90 days after the day bids are opened. A bidder may, however, withdraw his bid at any time prior to the time and date scheduled for opening of same or any authorized postponement thereof. Time allowed for the completion of the project is 210 consecutive calendar days.
