Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Waterbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Project consists of roadway and sidewalk improvements on North Main Street, South Main Street, Bank Street, and Travel Center, as detailed and described in the Bid Documents. The project includes partial-depth roadway reconstruction, mill and overlay, installation of new bituminous concrete pavement, new concrete sidewalks and a concrete paver amenity strip. Other improvements include stamped crosswalks and parking treatments, new granite curbing, minor storm drainage improvements, a new bus shelter, street lights, signage, pavement markings, benches, garbage and recycling receptacles, street trees and shrubs, and surface/amenity treatments at the Travel Center. The prime contractor must self-perform a minimum of 50% of the total contract value. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ten (10) percent of the Total Bid Price. The Bidder to whom a contract is offered, must furnish to the City, if that contract has a total cost greater than $50,000.00, a 100 percent Performance Bond with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City. In the City's sole discretion, it may also require a 100 percent Payment Bond and/or other additional security with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City.
