Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Palatine, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Project DPW-2415 for which proposals are being sought includes providing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and construction methods for the removal and replacement of sidewalk and curb along with full roadway reconstruction, pavement replacement, and drainage improvements, on Tulip Way, and installation of new concrete shoulders and pavement resurfacing on Doe Road, Leonard Road and Olive Street, all in the Village of Palatine. Quantities include, but are not limited to, approximately 1,705 tons of HMA Surface and Binder courses, 1,500 square feet of sidewalk, 1,540 feet of concrete curb and gutter, 4,435 feet of concrete shoulders, pavement marking, restoration and other associated work. All bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Village of Palatine. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank draft in an amount equal to five percent of the bid, payable to the Village of Palatine, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute a contract and furnish a contract bond as set forth in the Project Documents. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Village of Palatine as liquidated damages. Award of Contract DPW-2415, if one is to be made, is tentatively scheduled by the Village Council at their regular meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024. A current IDOT Certificate of Eligibility must be received before 12:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024 at bidinfo@palatine.il.us for Bid to be considered. This work is funded with Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and is subject to financial assistance agreements with said agencies. Responsibilities under the CDBG Program include: adhering to the Davis-Bacon Act, verifying wage decisions to be valid at the time of bid opening, certified payrolls to be submitted, and on-site interviews of labor force to verify wages. The letting of this contract is subject to Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Village of Palatine reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to accept any proposal which the Village Council deems most favorable to the interests of the Village.
