Development of 6.5 hectares in the Regent Park phases 4 and 5 developments. TIMELINE:
A Request For Proposals from Shoring and Excavation Consultants has been issued by the Owner's Agent on behalf of Delterra Consutruction. The following scope of work describes the minimum Requirements that shall be included as part of the Shoring and Excavation Consultant's scope of work and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all services or Deliverables that are, or may be, required.
The awarded proponent will;
a. Conduct an analysis of the clearances offered by the site plan and the architectural foundation wall layout to accurately determine the spatial requirements of the shoring system. In conjunction with this, evaluate the design concept with respect to the soil conditions at the site, and the feasibility of obtaining any necessary encroachment agreements with applicable public and/or private entities.
b. Design the project's excavation support system in conformance with the Ontario Building Code and the requirements of all authorities having jurisdiction. Maximum design deflection in the earth retaining system shall be limited to 12mm in general and 6mm where there are adjacent building foundations to be supported.
c. Provide permit-level shoring drawings that include plan, elevation, and section views of the shoring system, as well as plan details showing clearances and steel connection details to minimize the impact on wall and waterproofing details
d. Review architectural and/or structural engineer's earth retention specification packages as necessary for consistency with the shoring system design.
Tender-Level and Construction-Level Shoring Drawings
a. Provide fully engineered tender-level shoring drawings that include pile and tieback schedules and connection details necessary for obtaining pricing.
b. Coordinate with the building design consultants; incorporate comments by the City's building examiner.
c. During the tendering phase, reply to all Requests for Information (RFIs) by bidders and provide additional drawings and/or information as necessary. Assist Deltera and Tridel in evaluating bids.
d. Provide fully engineered issued-for-construction shoring drawings that include complete pile and tieback schedules and connection details as necessary for construction.
e. Reply to all Requests for Information by the shoring contractor. Review all third-party shop drawings as necessary to ensure compliance with the project requirements. Issue site instructions and change orders as necessary.
The TCHC construction manager (Deltera) will supervise the shoring contractor during installation of the vertical shoring elements and anchors/rakers. The successful Proponent will be responsible for witnessing, verifying, and reporting on on-site field verification observations, tie-back tests, and monitoring as required to support design verification and as required by all authorities having jurisdiction.
