The Vineyard Springs Comprehensive Plan Drainage Master Plan as amended includes Laguna Creek flood control at the Triangle Aggregate Pit. The aggregate miners have completed mining of an area adjacent to Laguna Creek and they constructed a side channel flood control weir. Recently, the mining company invited the County to consider the final plan for the flood control facility. This project will convert the mining pit to a flood control detention basin including dressing the slopes, improving creek conveyance, constructing a creek crossing, and preparing an all-weather access area for portable pump for discharging the flood waters from the basin. There will also be a real estate easement component to the project. Project is included in the Sacramento County's FY 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 20, 2025, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
