Bids are to be secured in a sealed envelope clearly identifying the Project's name on the outside of the sealed envelope and submitted to the following address: Airport Manager's Office Turners Falls Municipal Airport 1 Avenue A Turners Falls, Massachusetts 01376 Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interest of the Owner. A Bidder (Prime Contractor or a Contractor/Subcontractors Team) on this Project must be prequalified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for Highway - Construction and/or Highway - Bike Paths, and appear on the MassDOT prequalified contractor list; latest posting not exceeding the bid date. Forms and instructions for prequalification may be obtained from MassDOT. All bids received from Bidders that are not prequalified through MassDOT, on or before the bid date, will be rejected. The Project includes the following Work: Excavation of native soils, placement/compaction of subbase and base gravel courses, fine grading, and placement/compaction of binder and wearing pavement courses associated with the current construction of an academic hangar located at Turners Falls Airport. The Project has an expected duration of 60 calendar days. The Owner anticipates construction to commence on or about September 2, 2024, substantial completion by October 18, 2024, and final completion by November 1, 2024. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost is estimated to be between $165,000 to $180,000. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
