WEST READING BOROUGH BERKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA ANN STREET CURB, SIDEWALK AND ADA RAMP IMPROVEMENTS - 2024 The project generally consists of reconstruction or construction of concrete curbs, sidewalk, and ADA curb ramps along Ann Street between Pine St and Sunset Rd. The project will include the replacement of 875 linear feet of curbing; replacement of 837 feet of five-foot wide sidewalk, and the replacement and/or installation of two full corner ADA Ramps at Pine Street, and four corner ADA Ramps at the Alley. All Bidders who will be submitting Bids to the Borough must register and purchase a complete set of the Bid Documents from Systems Design Engineering, Inc. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Surety Company's Bid Bond on the form provided in the Bid Documents, naming as payee or Obligee, West Reading Borough, Berks County in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted. The Surety Company must be acceptable to said Borough. No bid may be withdrawn after the above-specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of bids, except as specifically may be provided by law. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted no less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening Bids to the Engineer in writing, by email or standard mail at: Systems Design Engineering, Inc., 1032 James Drive, Leesport, PA 19533 ATTN: Pamela J. Stevens, P.E., or email to p.stevens@sdei.net All Contracts exceeding $10,000.00 shall be performed in compliance with Executive Order 11246, entitled, "Equal Employment Opportunity," as amended by Executive Order 11375 and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations (41 CFR Part 60). In addition, all Contractors shall comply with the "Nondiscrimination/Sexual Harassment Clause" as required by Pennsylvania Executive Order 2016-05. Wages paid are subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented. The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act of 1955, P.L. 744, No. 222, as amended June 25,1997 by Act 34 of 1997, 43 P.S. 951-963, shall apply to this Contract. The Bidder and all subcontractors must be prequalified by PennDOT for the type of project work specified in order to bid the project, and PennDOT prequalification certificates must be submitted by the Bidder and all subcontractors. West Reading Borough reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject any or all Bids, and to delete any item or portion of an item without affecting the bids on the remaining items or portion of items. This Project will be financed by a Multimodal Transportation Fund Grant (MMTF) from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.
