BC Timber Sales, East Kootenay Field Team has 51.1 hectares of mechanical site preparation in the form of Screefing is to be completed on two different Treatment Units in the summer / fall of 2024. Both units are located in the Rocky/Gold Creek area south of Cranbrook. All the treatment units have been field reviewed. The two treatment units, A92027-1 and A95530-1 have slopes that exceed 35%. LiDAR maps showing slopes have been provided for the two treatment units. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to review these treatment areas and develop a written steep slope plan. GPS of the completed areas will be done for payment purposes. The contactor must follow BC Wildfire regulations and dry hazardous conditions may mean stopping work and should be accounted for in their planning. Fire tools and suppression systems will be required as per regulations.
