Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 150,000-square-foot, four-story above grade, 150-bed elderly care / assisted living facility.

The Dr. F.W. Green Memorial Home (the "Project") is located in Cranbrook BC, and currently services residents through a facility that is comprised of several distinct phases and structures, constructed over the past twenty plus years. The facility has reached its useful lifespan and will be replaced with a new facility using land currently dedicated to staff parking. The project will be built in two phases constructed over an approximate 4-5 year timeline. Once Phase 1 is complete, the residents in the existing facility will be transitioned over to the new building, demolition will occur on the existing facility and Phase 2 will be built in its place. There will be no requirement for renovation to the existing facility while it is occupied. The total new building area being constructed is approximately 150,000 SF and is currently designed at 150 beds. Bird Construction is retained by Interior Health as a Construction manager for the Demolition and Reconstruction of FWG Cranbrook Long Term Care Centre. The total new building area being constructed is approximately 150,000 SF and is currently designed at 158 beds. The project will be built in two phases spanning from June 2025 to December 2028 Bird Construction is seeking services of Mechanical & Electrical Trade partners services as described in the RFP documents.
