The City of Cranbrook (City) is seeking qualified Proponents through this Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide services for the City's Water Meter Implementation Plan. In 2024, the City conducted a Universal Water Metering Workshop which provided a comprehensive review of metering and reading system technologies and configuration options for their water service area. Universal deployment of new water meters for all customers was recommended coupled with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) reading system. The intent is to meter all residential and institutional-commercial-industrial (ICI) customers in the City of Cranbrook, however the implementation time period has yet to be established. Public communications have been initiated and respondents highlighted the need for their community to reduce water consumption. There is strong support for introducing meters for residential and ICI properties.
